The Pololu 3pi+ 2040 Robot Kit w/ 15:1 HPCB Motors (Hyper Edition Kit) is a compact, high-performance mobile platform that is powered by the Raspberry Pi RP2040 MCU. This kit includes all the necessary components to construct the Hyper Edition version, which features a pair of 15:1 HPCB 6V Micro Metal Gearmotors. Please note that this product is a kit and requires assembly, including soldering. Due to its high speed and difficulty in control, this version is only recommended for advanced users. A spare 15:1 gearbox is also included for convenience.

The 3pi+ 2040 Robot is a versatile, high-performance, user-programmable robot with a diameter of just 9.7 cm (3.8 inch). It is powered by a Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller, a 32-bit dual-core Arm Cortex-M0+ processor running at 125 MHz, which can be programmed with C++, Arduino, or Python. The robot comes with 16 MB (128 Mbit) of flash memory that is preloaded with a MicroPython interpreter, allowing users to start programming immediately by connecting to its USB C port and editing the included example Python programs.

The 3pi+ 2040 Robot is equipped with two H-bridge motor drivers and a variety of integrated sensors. These include a pair of quadrature encoders for closed-loop motor control, a complete inertial measurement unit (3-axis accelerometer, gyro, and magnetometer), five downward-facing reflectance sensors for line-following or edge-detection, and left and right bump sensors on the front face of the robot. For user interaction, the robot features three on-board pushbuttons, a 128x64 graphical OLED display, a buzzer, and six RGB LEDs for feedback.

The robot also boasts a unique power system that maintains a constant 8 V for the motors, regardless of the battery charge level, ensuring that the speed of the motors remains consistent.

Please note that this product is the kit version of the Hyper Edition of the 3pi+ 2040 Robot. Assembly, including soldering, is required. Due to its high speed and difficulty in control, this version is only recommended for advanced users. A spare gearbox is included with this edition.
