The Robot Power Open Source Motor Control 160A, 13-50V is a robust H-bridge circuit specifically engineered for controlling permanent magnet DC motors. Initially designed for robot combat competitions, its features make it suitable for a variety of commercial and industrial motor control applications. This motor controller is capable of driving a wide range of motors and other loads, and it is designed for easy mounting and interfacing with various microcontroller units. Its design allows for straightforward modifications or repairs if necessary.
This motor control unit operates without a heavy heatsink, instead utilizing a cooling fan to efficiently dissipate heat from the MOSFETs. The fan, a standard 80mm square computer cooling fan, can be either 12V or 24V and is mounted directly over the MOSFETs for optimal cooling. The absence of onboard logic for interpreting RC or other commands necessitates an external logic interface to convert command inputs into the PWM signals required to drive the board. This design choice enhances flexibility, allowing the board to be driven by any microcontroller or signal source capable of providing PWM and Enable logic.
A significant advantage of this design is the ability to parallel power units for specialized applications. For instance, two OSMC boards can be used on a single interface channel to control high-powered four-brush motors, effectively doubling the current capacity. This setup allows for a continuous current capability exceeding 300A, with successful stall testing showing no significant heating of the boards. Additionally, this configuration can be adapted to drive slaved pairs of motors, enabling configurations such as 4-wheel or 6-wheel drive robots using a single RC interface channel.
Note: Ensure proper cooling and external logic interfacing to prevent overheating and ensure optimal performance.

If you are not satisfied for whatever reason with a Product you bought on the Site, it is possible to return it for refund within 30 days from the date you received it unless otherwise indicated in the Product listing. You must first advise the Vendor associated with your order in your account to obtain a return authorization (‘’RA’’) number before returning a Product. (‘’RA’’) numbers are valid for 30 days, within which time the returned Products should be received by the Vendor. No returns will be accepted without having previously obtained an (‘’RA’’) number. The Product must then be returned in its original packaging (in perfect condition for resale) with its receipt and your (‘’RA’’) number. Reimbursement will be denied for any Products which do not conform to the above mentioned conditions.
Build-it-yourself Robot Parts are not refundable once assembled. Robots & Kits requiring assembly or soldering are also not refundable once assembled, soldered or modified in any way. All sales of robotic software and apps are final and cannot be refunded or exchanged. Returns are not accepted on special orders and clearance items except when they are found defective, in which case the Product may be repaired or replaced at the Vendor’s discretion. 20% Restocking fees may apply if you are returning a large quantity of the same Product that was ordered specifically for you from the manufacturer.
Please note that all items will be reimbursed within 7 to 14 days of receiving the Product (shipping fees excluded). You must also cover the cost of returning the Product. Shipping fees will only be refunded if the return is a result of a shipping error on our part. Cleaning fees of USD 100 may also be charged if a domestic robot is returned and has not been properly cleaned.
