The Sherline 18-Inch NexGen Benchtop Mill Package A CNC Ready (Inch) is a sophisticated milling machine designed for both professional and hobbyist applications. This benchtop mill offers a spacious work area and enhanced structural rigidity, making it ideal for precision machining tasks. This CNC-ready mill is equipped with factory-installed stepper motor mounts, allowing for the easy addition of stepper motors and computer numeric controls. While the machine is not turn-key and requires the installation of stepper motors, it includes handwheels for each axis, which can be used for manual control once the motors are installed. The mill's design allows for three directions of travel, with the headstock spindle capable of positioning in four additional directions, enabling drilling or milling from virtually any angle.

The mill features a powerful 90V DC motor with an electronic speed controller, providing a spindle speed range from 70 to 2800 RPM. The 18-inch mill base includes Y-axis leadscrew protection, and the extended mill table is equipped with two T-slots for versatile tooling options.
