Compact and lightweight, perfect for educational play
The Thames & Kosmos Newton's Apple: Tightrope-Walking Gyrobot is a unique scientific toy that allows one to construct a charming apple-shaped robot capable of balancing and walking along a tightrope. This remarkable feat is made possible by the robot's primary component, a motorized gyroscope, which enables it to maintain its balance and perform this entertaining trick without toppling over.
The Gyrobot offers five distinct experiments that allow one to explore the fascinating powers of the motorized gyroscope and delve into the physics that governs its impressive behaviors. These experiments include making the Gyrobot walk on various tracks and a string, investigating its center of gravity, engaging in a ring-toss game, and observing the Gyrobot spin on a flat surface.
The construction of this apple robot and the execution of the experiments with the motorized gyroscope unit provide an excellent opportunity for budding engineers to learn about the science of gyroscopic devices and their crucial role in everyday life.
The Gyrobot comes with a full-color, 8-page, illustrated experiment manual that provides comprehensive assembly instructions and scientific explanations. This unique and functional design makes the Gyrobot an engaging and educational gift with a high play value.
Please note that the Gyrobot should be assembled under adult supervision to ensure safety and accuracy.
