Description

  • Threshold Formaldehyde HCHO Detection Sensor (0-20ppm)
  • Features an indicator light for easy monitoring
  • Operates within a broad voltage range of 5-24V
  • Detects formaldehyde levels exceeding or below a set threshold
  • Housed in black PCV0 flame-retardant material

The Threshold Formaldehyde HCHO Detection Sensor (0-20ppm) is a unique gas sensor that does not provide specific gas concentration data. Instead, it is designed to detect whether the surrounding environment's formaldehyde levels exceed or fall below a predetermined threshold. This sensor operates within a broad voltage range and offers high and low-level outputs.

One of the distinguishing features of this sensor is its indicator light, which allows for easy monitoring of its operational status. When the sensor detects a formaldehyde concentration above the threshold, it emits a high-level signal and the indicator light illuminates. On the other hand, when the concentration dips below the threshold, the sensor outputs a low-level signal and the indicator light extinguishes.

Formaldehyde, denoted chemically as CH2O or HCHO, is a colorless gas with a potent, pungent odor. It is soluble in alcohols and ethers. Exposure to high concentrations of formaldehyde vapor can lead to acute formaldehyde poisoning, a systemic disease primarily characterized by damage to the eyes and respiratory system. Symptoms can range from mild wheezing in children when the concentration reaches 0.08-0.09 mg/m3 in ambient air, to eye irritation, throat discomfort, nausea, vomiting, coughing, chest tightness, asthma, and even pulmonary edema at higher concentrations. A concentration of 30 mg/m3 can be lethal.

Please note that the threshold of this sensor is factory-fixed and cannot be modified by the user. For accurate measurement of formaldehyde concentration, the MEMS Formaldehyde HCHO Gas Detection Sensor is recommended.
