The Unitree R1 EDU (U2) Humanoid Robot, developed by Unitree Robotics, is a full-body bipedal humanoid platform designed for advanced research, AI development, and human-robot interaction studies. As the EDU variant of the R1 line, it provides expanded secondary development access through both high-level and low-level programming interfaces, distinguishing it from standard configurations. The robot achieves dynamic bipedal locomotion across a range of indoor and controlled environments, with the mechanical structure supporting per-arm payload tasks. It is built for universities, research institutions, and development teams requiring a capable, programmable humanoid with a high-compute onboard stack.
The robot's perception system combines stereoscopic vision with spatial audio capture, enabling it to localize sound sources and respond to environmental cues in real time. Interaction capabilities are further supported by an onboard speaker, allowing the platform to participate in spoken communication scenarios. Battery life is sufficient for extended development sessions, with a quick-release smart battery system minimizing downtime. The platform integrates with widely adopted robotics frameworks, making it accessible to developers already working within standard simulation and middleware ecosystems. With wireless connectivity supporting both high-bandwidth networking and short-range pairing, and with Isaac Sim compatibility for synthetic training environments, the Unitree R1 EDU (U2) serves research groups, robotics labs, and AI teams building next-generation autonomous and collaborative systems.

Use Cases & Application Scenarios
Real-world deployment scenarios for the Unitree R1 EDU (U2) across research and development environments.
Autonomous Facility Patrol
Its binocular depth camera module continuously scans the environment, making it effective for security rounds, anomaly detection, and access monitoring across warehouses, campuses, and commercial buildings. 100-TOPS onboard compute enables more advanced real-time vision and detection during patrol.
Industrial Site Monitoring
Equipped with a binocular camera and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, the R1 can navigate industrial environments to monitor equipment, check gauges, and relay live visual data to a control center. Its 2 kg per-arm carry capacity allows it to transport inspection tools or light supplies between stations.
Reception and Customer Interaction
The R1's built-in 4-mic array, speaker, and multimodal voice and vision AI allow it to greet visitors, answer common questions, and guide people through a space. It is immediately deployable as a lobby greeter, retail floor assistant, or exhibition presence without any custom programming. 100-TOPS AI compute delivers sharper speech recognition and faster visual context processing.
Education and Live Demonstrations
Standing 123 cm tall with 26 degrees of freedom, the R1 makes a compelling subject for classroom robotics education and live demonstrations at trade shows or corporate events. Natural bipedal movement and voice interaction bring humanoid robotics to life for any audience. Its 26 total DOF provides a richer motion range for demonstrating body mechanics and movement.

Refund Policy
If you are not satisfied with a product purchased from the Site, you may request a return within 30 days from the delivery date, unless the product is listed under the Return Exceptions below or is subject to specific return conditions noted on the product page.
This return policy also applies, as a minimum standard, to products sold and fulfilled by third-party vendors through the Marketplace.
Returns under this policy concern non-defective products. In the case of a confirmed manufacturing defect, remedies are handled under the Warranty terms, at the Vendor's discretion. See the Warranty section.
Return Conditions
To qualify for a refund under the 30-day return policy, all of the following conditions must be met:
A valid Return Authorization (RA) number must be obtained prior to returning the product. Returns without an RA number will be refused.
The RA number is valid for 30 days. The returned item must be received within that period.
The RA number must be included with the return.
Products must be returned in unused, unmodified condition (e.g., no scratches, alterations, missing parts, or signs of installation/use) and in their original packaging, suitable for resale.
Shipping fees are non-refundable. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, except in cases of a product confirmed defective through RobotShop's troubleshooting process or of a verified shipping error by RobotShop.
Refunds are processed within 7 days after receipt and inspection of the returned item.
A $100 cleaning fee may apply to domestic robots returned in used or unclean condition.
A 20% restocking fee may apply to large-quantity returns of items ordered specifically for the customer from the manufacturer or not part of RobotShop's standard inventory.
Return Exceptions
The following products are not eligible for return or refund under this policy:
